Description
Lahsun, also known as garlic, is a pungent bulbous plant that belongs to the Allium family, which also includes onions, chives, and shallots. It is commonly used as a seasoning and flavoring agent in many cuisines around the world. The bulb of the garlic plant is composed of individual cloves, which are encased in a papery white or pinkish skin. Each clove is surrounded by a thin, translucent membrane and has a slightly flattened shape. When the cloves are crushed or chopped, they release a strong, distinctive aroma and a pungent flavor that is often described as sharp, spicy, and slightly sweet.
